“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” James 3:13
At Grove City College, Move-in Day is more than just a milestone – it’s day one of experiencing what an education pursuing the virtues and true wisdom really means and what our community is all about.
When you arrive on campus, our staff, students, and even the college president surround you, unload your car, and carry your things into your new dorm. These same people were praying over you before your arrival and will continue to come alongside you for the next four years and beyond.
Move-in Day is a glimpse into the heart of our community. Exemplifying charity and love, it serves as a living model for the type of society we implore our students and graduates to create.
This is the first step toward an education which develops the whole person, not just the mind, so you can fulfill your higher calling and contribute to God’s Kingdom.
Move-In Day is more than just moving boxes. It shows Grove City College is equally purposeful in the cultivation of character, community, and curriculum. We want to help you discover the joy that comes from pursuing Christian virtue and what you can be part of here.
Prepare for Move-in Day with check-in details and frequently asked questions, participate in Welcome Week events, and find important information on dining and shopping, packing and shipping, payments, and more. Our Residence Life team is here to help you comfortably transition to college life.
Move-in day is a very exciting time, and our Residence Life team looks forward to welcoming you and helping you settle into your room. You will begin the check-in process in the main lobby of your residence hall or at the specifically listed location below. At check-in, you will receive your Room Condition Inventory (RCI) form and a member of the Residence Life team and/or the Orientation Board will walk you to your room and assist you in moving. Once you turn in your completed RCI, you will receive your room key. Please note that there are designated move in times.
Check out the GCC Virtual Tour to see photos of residence hall rooms and locations on campus. Find out more about Memorial Hall and Hicks Hall (our male freshmen buildings) and North Hall and Harker Hall (our female freshmen buildings).

We’ve compiled a list of the most common questions we get, ranging from items to bring to sending a birthday cake. If they don’t answer your question, feel free to contact the Office of Student Life and Learning for further assistance.
Some students are granted permission to return to campus earlier than move-in weekend for College-specific functions such as sports and band. This approval request is made to the Office of Residence Life by the campus faculty or staff member who oversees the program or organization.
Requests to arrive on campus prior to the official opening of the residence halls will only be granted on an extremely limited basis (and will require an overnight fee). It is important to note that students are not permitted to move in some or all of their belongings early, even if their roommate or friend has been granted permission to move in early.
All requests to arrive early with an incoming freshman or transfer sibling must be made no later than two weeks prior to the desired arrival date. Upperclassmen siblings of incoming freshmen or transfers who live beyond a reasonable radius of the College may request permission from the Director of Residence Life to arrive on the first day of new student orientation.
Most students bring much more than they need. Except for the Colonial Hall Apartments and Memorial Hall, none of our residence halls have elevators. It is better to pack small boxes that can be easily carried by one person than large boxes that require more than one person to carry them.
If you find that what you brought to Grove City College is inadequate for your needs or if your circumstances warrant shipping some belongings, you may ship them to the College. Unfortunately, we cannot accept shipments prior to August 1 so you will not be able to pre-ship your items before that date. When addressing your items, make sure to include your box number, which must be on ALL mail and packages you receive at Grove City College. If you are unsure of your box number, it can be found in myGCC after you have received your login information. Your address will be:
Your Name Grove City College Your Box Number 200 Campus Drive Grove City, PA 16127-2104
Packages may be picked up at the campus post office on the first floor of Breen Student Union during normal business hours. Please note that items cannot be moved into your room any earlier than your designated move-in date. You must be present and checked in for items to be moved into your room.
Your address should include the following to ensure your mail arrives to you with no delays:

Payments for the fall semester are due by the first business day in August. Payments for the spring semester and January Intersession are due by the first business day in January. Housing deposits are due in early March (watch for announcement). May Intersession charges are due the Friday before Intersession begins. All other miscellaneous charges are due and payable within 10 days of assessment. All outstanding balances will be subject to a $40 late fee on the first business day of each month.

Any changes to your schedule, housing status, or financial aid will affect your outstanding balance. If you are unable to pay your account in full prior to the payment deadline, contact the Office of Student Accounts (724-458-2209) before the payment deadline.
We encourage you to contact the Office of Financial Aid at 724-458-3300 or at financialaid@gcc.edu or studentaccounts@gcc.edu for information on paying your bill, the billing calendar, or any other billing questions.
