"If what we claim about Jesus Christ is true then Christians should be among the most active, most serious, and most open-minded advocates of general human learning." – Mark Noll, Jesus Christ and the Life of the Mind
Grove City College believes that undergraduate studies are a high calling, and we are eager to help students develop robust Christian minds and imaginations for God’s glory and our neighbors' good.
The College awards 24 Trustee Academic Scholarships each year to our highest performing students. The top eight recipients are designated as Trustee Fellows and are awarded the College’s most generous merit-based scholarship – a full-ride award which covers standard tuition and food & housing. Trustee Fellows are also involved in a mentoring program, drawing wisdom from faculty members in their major and from across campus.
The remaining 16 recipients are designated as Trustee Scholars and receive an award of half tuition. Trustee Scholars have the opportunity to engage in significant scholarly conversations and research with some of our best faculty, especially in the humanities core, as well as enjoy special cultural activities in Pittsburgh and Western PA.
Trustee Fellows and Trustee Scholars take four courses from the College's humanities core as a cohort, and both scholarships are renewable for up to four years provided the cumulative QPA requirement of 3.40 is maintained. Trustee Scholars are permitted to receive additional need-based financial aid not exceeding the cost of education.
This exceptional program and community equip students to develop to a level uncommon for undergraduates. Our hope is that many fellows and scholars will become viable candidates for highly competitive internships, leadership development programs, service projects, research positions, and such post-graduate fellowships as the Fulbright, Rhodes, and Marshall Scholarships. Alternates for both programs are selected in the event that a scholarship recipient chooses not to attend Grove City College.
First-time freshmen are considered for this scholarship program, and scholarships are awarded based on the student’s potential to enhance the campus’ spiritual, social, and academic community. Students should have well-developed leadership skills, a love for community service, cultural maturity, initiative, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong academic profile.
To be considered:
Students who are selected as finalists will be contacted to participate in an on-campus interview in early December. Recipients will be notified in mid-January regardless of deadline type (early decision applicants or regular decision applicants).
