C-SPAN kicking off Pa. primary tour at Grove City College Get on the bus! C-SPAN kicking off Pa. primary tour at Grove City College The C-SPAN Campaign 2016 Bus will roll onto the campus of Grove City College on Monday, April 25, to kick off the public affairs cable channel’s Pennsylvania Primary Tour. C-SPAN’s classroom and TV studio on wheels will be on campus from 9 a.m. to noon at Carnegie Alumni Center, 260 S. Broad St., Grove City, Pa. Through interactive exhibits and on-board multimedia technology, visitors will learn about C-SPAN’s unvarnished coverage of American politics and have a chance to weigh in on the current presidential campaign via 30-second “Voices from the Road” responses. “We are honored to be a destination of choice for C-SPAN’s 2016 Pennsylvania Primary Tour Bus,” said Jacki Muller, senior director of marketing and communications. “The network delivers a critical public service to the American people with unbiased coverage of Congress, the White House, the Federal courts and the ‘Road to the White House,’ in particular.” Students and the community-at-large will have a unique opportunity to engage in discussions about the electoral process, learn more about our country’s history of citizen legislatures and CSPAN’s commitment to civic involvement. The College partnered with cable provider Armstrong Cable to bring the CSPAN Campaign bus to campus. All funding for C-SPAN operations, including Bus visits, is provided by local TV providers. “Armstrong is delighted to once again partner with C-SPAN,” Dave Wittmann, vice president of Marketing for Armstrong. “For over 35 years, Armstrong customers have had unfiltered access to the political process, extending television journalism into areas once shielded from view.” The College, Armstrong and C-SPAN are encouraging local schools to bring their students to tour the bus, along with Grove City College students, local elected officials, candidates for office and members of the community. A kick-off reception will be held at 11 a.m. in the Colonnade of Carnegie Alumni Center. “C-SPAN's footage takes you from the town hall meetings and campaign rallies, to the policy speeches, party conventions, and presidential debates – giving viewers the absolute best coverage on what the candidates are saying and how this historic race is unfolding along the campaign trail.” said Steve Scully, C-SPAN's senior executive producer and political editor.
