Anonym / Tuesday, March 8, 2016 / Categories: All News, Campus, Student Life, Academics, Arts & Letters, Music Concert features music from the silver screen Concert features music from the silver screen The Grove City College Symphonic Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will showcase the music of the cinema in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. “A Night at the Movies” showcases musical works that have brightened the silver screen with their gorgeous and remarkable melodies. Selections will include music from: “The Chronicles of Narnia,” “The Hunger Games,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Harry Potter,” and “Star Wars.” In addition, the bands will highlight classical music that has been featured in numerous movies, such as “Nessun Dorma,” and “The Marriage of Figaro.” Dr. Joseph M. Pisano ’94, Director of Bands and Assistant Chair of Music, will conduct the concert, which will also feature student conductor Amanda J. Casto ’17. The concert is free and open to the public with free parking available.
