Dan Bryant
Dan Bryant, Walmart’s executive vice president of Global Public Policy and Government Affairs, will discuss “Kingdom Ethics in Global Business” next week at Grove City College.
Bryant will deliver the 2024 J. Paul Sticht ’39 Memorial Lecture in Business and Ethics at 7 p.m. March 13 in Crawford Hall Auditorium on campus. This year’s Sticht lecture is part of the College’s Faith for Life series. The hybrid event is sponsored by the College’s School of Business and the Office of Christian Formation.

Bryant has extensive experience in the public and private sector. He served as Assistant Attorney General for Legal Policy and Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Department of Justice and as counsel for House and Senate committees. He was a partner in the Washington D.C. law firm Covington & Burling, and, prior to joining Walmart, led PepsiCo.’s worldwide government affairs team and global public policy efforts. Bryant is an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church in Vienna, Va., and serves on the board of trustees of Westminster Theological Seminary in California.
Prior to delivering the lecture, Bryant will meet with Grove City College students for a question and answer session. Bryant can speak with authority on issues regarding foreign relations, trade policy, US-China relations, and free markets from a unique perspective, said Michelle McFeaters ‘88, ’02, dean of the School of Business.
“Mr. Bryant’s vast experience wrestling with issues in global public policy for a premier Fortune 500 company and his role as a public servant at the highest levels of government give him a compellingly unique perspective that our students need to hear,” McFeaters said. “Our students will benefit from hearing about how his faith has guided him and provided him with wisdom and discernment as he navigated his career and the unique vocation to which he has been called.”
In addition to his work in business and government, Bryant taught law at George Washington University’s School of Law, Washington, D.C., and Columbia Law School, New York. He received his bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees from American University, Washington, D.C., and his master’s degree from Oxford University, England. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the board of directors for the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the Council of the Americas, and a variety of education-related nonprofit boards.
The J. Paul Sticht ’39 Memorial Lecture in Business and Ethics is given in honor of J. Paul Sticht ’39, a legendary corporate executive who helmed R. J. Reynolds Industries, Trans World Airlines, Campbell Soup, and Federated Department Stores over a long career. Born in western Pennsylvania, Sticht worked his way through Grove City College, where he met his wife, Ferne. He joined the College’s Board of Trustees in 1963 and was Chairman from 1998 to 2003. He died in 2008.
The Faith for Life lecture series features a mix of speakers, including faculty, nationally known Christian thinkers, and influential leaders. who consider the implications of Christian faith for life in God’s world.
