Trio Nova Mundi to perform at Grove City College

Grove City College presents Trio Nova Mundi in concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26 in Arnold Recital Hall of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.

The recital features works by Franz Joseph Haydn, Mel Bonis, Karina Glasinovic and Juan Ramirez. It is free and open to the public.

Trio Nova Mundi is Grove City College’s ensemble-in-residence, consisting of adjunct faculty member’s violinist Maureen Conlon Gutierrez, cellist Elisa Kohanski, and pianist Becky Billock. In their role as ensemble-in-residence, the group performs concerts on campus and offers several open rehearsals to students and the community.

Trio Nova Mundi is committed to community outreach and bringing musical appreciation to younger audiences across the globe. The trio traveled to South Africa, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe in 2013, and to Mexico in 2014, where they gave concerts and engaged in educational outreach.

In February 2015, Trio Nova Mundi performed the World Premiere of Elisenda Fabregas' Triple Concerto at Georgia State University in Atlanta. In January 2016, the group appeared at the Semanas Musicales de Frutillar, a well-loved music festival in Southern Chile; they also performed in Puerto Montt, Chile as part of the tour. The trio's recent recording, Canticum, is available on CD or through digital download.

The concert is free and open to the public.
