Pew Fine Arts Gallery at Grove City College presents “Works by J.D. Titzel” from Oct. 20 to Nov. 14 in the gallery of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.
Titzel’s paintings of landscapes and still lifes, done in oil and watercolor, along with his graphite drawings, are included in many corporate and private collections. The Mercer County-based artist’s award-wining work has been exhibited nationally and regionally. Lois Wiley, art critic with The Erie Times News, says “Only an artist of patience, sincerity and commitment could produce the body of work Titzel has.”
Titzel will be on hand for an artist’s reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 23 in the gallery and will also conduct an artist’s workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. that day on campus when he’ll demonstrate and discuss his techniques.
Gallery hours: Noon to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays; also 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 28 to 31; and 6:30 to 10 p.m. Nov. 12 to 14.
