What is your current occupation?
Federal judge (U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania)
Why did you choose Grove City College?
I chose Grove City College because of the strong academic reputation, the small student body size, and the College's commitment to Christianity and faith-based education. Additionally, I was heavily involved in music, and I was afforded the opportunity to not only focus on my major (history/pre-law) but also to be involved in the orchestra and take a number of music courses.
What did you learn at Grove City College that was most helpful to you after graduation?
The critical thinking and writing that I learned in many of my classes was extremely helpful to me when I went to law school. My experience too on the speech and debate team helped me in argument and court-like settings in law school and later as a lawyer.
How did the College's focus on the liberal arts affect your educational experience?
I have many interests, and it was terrific to be able to have such a broad education in all kinds of subjects. I was able to take classes in history, political science, economics, English, philosophy, religion, and music. It was a well-rounded education!
What should prospective students know about Grove City College?
Grove City College is a school where you make life-long friends and can build the foundation for your education, career, and faith.
