The third annual Lux Mea Film Festival, a Grove City College Department of Communication and Visual Arts production, opens at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 29 in Crawford Hall Auditorium on campus.
The festival highlights student filmmakers and their work in a red-carpet style event that is directed by students in Associate Professor Greg Bandy’s Special Events and Promotions class. Teams of students handle every aspect of the festival, from design to promotion to event planning and more.
Lux Mea will feature 16 short films made by Grove City College students. Professional judges will evaluate the work and medals will be awarded to the top films.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Black and White” and attendees are encouraged to dress accordingly. An after-party, open to all festival goers to meet and mingle with filmmakers will follow the festival in the Collonade of Carnegie Alumni Center. Tickets are on sale from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays in Breen Student Union.
