The Showcase Series kicks off this month with a performance by renowned violinist David Kim at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. Kim has served as concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra where he has regularly appeared as soloist each season since 1999 as well as with numerous orchestras internationally. The Dutch vocal ensemble Olga hails from the land of tulips, wooden shoes and windmills and creates pure music from five distinct but harmonious voices. Olga performs at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2, 2017 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus. Tickets available are available at Olga tickets.
Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre is offering alumni, friends and students a special opportunity to attend Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s performance of “Alice in Wonderland” at 2 p.m. Feb. 18, 2017 at the Benedum Center in downtown Pittsburgh. Tickets are available at Alice in Wonderland tickets. Ticket sales close on Jan. 20, 2017. There will be limited bus transportation from the College.
The Showcase series wraps up for the season with Riverdance at 8 p.m. March 17, 2017 at the Benedum Center. An exclusive block of tickets to see the popular Irish dance troupe is available only until Jan. 3, 2017 at Riverdance tickets. There will be limited bus transportation from the College.
The College, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Broadway Series, offers theater lovers the chance to see the Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The King and I” at 2 p.m. April 8, 2017 at the Benedum Center. An exclusive block of tickets is available for the College community only until Jan. 17, 2016 at King and I tickets.
