Put on those thinking caps, Grove City College’s 2016 Math Blast is set for Saturday, March 12, in the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus. Math Blast is hosted by Grove City College students in the Mathematics for Secondary Education class.
The free three-hour program provides fun and innovative math lessons to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Each participating child may take two one-hour classes.
Math Blast offers entertaining lessons such as “M&M Math,” “Graphing with Skittles,” Egyptian Math,” “Snow White Geometry,” “Secret Codes,” “Pirate Map” and more, all taught by Grove City College students.
“Math Blast never fails to be one of the highlights of our family’s spring. All the GCC staff and students involved make the morning exciting for all ages. Who doesn't love learning about math while counting (and eating) M&M's?” Tracy Jackson, a local mother of four, said.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the atrium of the Hall of Arts and Letters. No pre-registration is required.
