Today, Grove City College launched “Grit and Glory,” a podcast highlighting excellence, faith, and character in the wide world of sports.
“Grit and Glory” will feature interviews with Grove City College coaches, alumni, students, faculty, and other individuals around the country who embody these characteristics through their participation in or leadership of athletic organizations of all types.
The podcast is hosted by Joe Klimchak '91, former College sports information director and current In-Game Host of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
"I'm excited to help share these inspiring stories that truly showcase athletics excellence, faith, and character. It's my hope that our viewers and listeners will draw valuable takeaways from each episode," Klimchak said.
The first episode of “Grit and Glory” – available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Podbean – features Head Football Coach Andrew DiDonato ’10.
DiDonato earned the Presidents’ Athletic Conference 2023 Coach of the Year award during an undefeated 2023 season that saw the Wolverines make their first trip in College history to the NCAA Division III playoffs. Over eight seasons, DiDonato’s “Brick by Brick” philosophy has inspired hundreds of student-athletes.
“‘Grit and Glory’ seeks to promote GCC athletics, highlight the strength of our programs, and explore a sports culture that values excellence, character, and leadership. We want to tell the stories of coaches, teams, players, alumni, and others who share our values and a vision for the power of sports to transform lives,” said Joanie Baumgartner, director of Advancement Communications.
