Grove City College is showcasing the work of regional artists Margaret Brostrom and George Cooley from Feb. 7 through Mar. 3, 2017, in the gallery of Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.
“The Warlord and the Suffragette” explores the harmony and tension between the artists’ diverse styles. Brostrom’s figurative approach and Cooley’s abstract one provide the tension while the shapes and sizes of the works produce the harmony. The artists, who moved to Oil City, Pa., to help build an arts community, will host a collaborative reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 in the gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.
Gallery hours: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
