Former Grove City College first lady Sue Corbett Moore died Thursday, May 30 in Fort Myers, Fla., at the age of 83. Her husband, Dr. John H. Moore, was the College’s seventh president, serving from 1996 to 2003.
While at Grove City, Mrs. Moore helped to lead the College through its 125th anniversary, planning regional alumni and friend gatherings throughout the country. She also assisted the alumni and president’s offices in planning special events for the campus and community.
A Tennessee native, Mrs. Moore studied at the University of Tennessee. She enjoyed a career in both teaching and industry. Together, the Moores traveled the nation and the world. They retired to Florida in 1996, where they stayed active in academic and community events. Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband and two sons.
