Faith for Life features notable alums, other Christian leaders

This season of Grove City College’s Faith for Life lecture series features accomplished alumni and other Christian leaders exploring the nature of God, faith, and calling.

Faith for Life is an initiative of the College’s Office of Christian Formation intended to help students understand the implications of living their faith and develop a Christian vision for life. The series brings committed Christian leaders to campus to share their wisdom and experience with students.

Catholic theologian and popular author Dr. Scott Hahn `79 will present “Holy is His Name: The Transforming Power of God’s Holiness in Scripture” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in Crawford Hall Auditorium on campus.

Hahn is the Father Michael Scanlan Chair of Biblical Theology and the New Evangelization at Franciscan University of Steubenville and the author of several books including “Rome Sweet Home” and “The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth.” A former Presbyterian who converted to Catholicism, Hahn graduated summa cum laude from Grove City College with a triple major in Theology, Philosophy, and Economics.

Alumnus Dr. Bradley J. Lingo ’00, dean of Regent University’s School of Law will discuss “Faith, Calling, and the Law” at 7 p.m., April 12 in Sticht Lecture Hall of the Staley Hall of Arts and Letters on campus.

Lingo graduated summa cum laude from Grove City College with a double major in Business and Economics and earned his juris doctorate from Harvard Law School. He was a partner in King & Spalding’s Trial and Global Disputes practice group and litigated a number of pro bono and religious liberty matters before joining the Regent faculty in 2019.

The Faith for Life schedule also features:

  • Dr. Chad Van Dixhoorn, professor of Church History, Westminster Theological Seminary, “To Have and to Hold: Creeds, Confessions, and the Church” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 in Sticht Lecture Hall.
  • Jay Stringer, therapist, minister, and author of “Unwanted: How Sexual Brokenness Reveals Our Way to Healing,” “Understanding your Sexual Story” at 7 p.m. Feb. 15, Crawford Auditorium
  • Dr. A. Craig Troxel, professor of Practical Theology, Westminster Seminary California, “The Heart of Faith: How the Reformation Reclaimed the Core of Saving Faith,” at 7 p.m. March 15 in Sticht Lecture Hall.
  • Matt Merker, director of Creative Resources and Training for Getty Music and Director of Congregational Singing for Edgefield Church, in concert at 7 p.m. March 22, in Harbison Chapel.
