After graduation, I enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at West Virginia University and completed my degree in two years. I worked for two years at KidsPeace in Allentown, Pa., as a clinical social worker with children and adolescents, with responsibilities doing individual, group, and family therapy. In 1999, I began my studies at Wheaton College, IL, toward my doctorate in clinical psychology. I was able to take electives in child/adolescent treatment and completed my internship at a residential facility for children in Chicago. After completing my Psy.D. in 2004, I worked over the next several years in a community mental health center and pediatric office.
In 2007, I moved to upstate New York and now work at an outpatient clinic as a clinical psychologist at Samaritan Medical Center. Last year, I began working as clinical director of our outpatient clinic and have continued to carry a caseload of children, adolescents, and adults. I find my duties here to be quite challenging at times, yet also very rewarding.
