Three acts featuring Grove City College alumni – Joel Ansett, Blue Light Bandits and The Stairwells – are headlining a benefit concert on campus.
The Lamplight Sessions, presented by Alpha Epsilon Chi men's housing group with the help of Stonebridge and Omicron Xi fraternity, is set for 7 p.m. Jan. 30 in Crawford Auditorium. It is intended to raise awareness and funds for the Lt. Barret A. Snyder '08 Memorial Scholarship Endowment at Grove City College. Snyder, a member of Alpha Epsilon Chi, died in a tragic accident in 2011 three days after he was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.
Ansett ’12 is a well-regarded folk, pop and R&B musician who has been recording since 2012 and was a finalist in the 2015 Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Showcase. Blue Light Bandits, a four piece groove band featuring Daniel DeCristofaro ’13, play rock, soul and pop and are nominated for "New Act of the Year" by the New England Music Awards. Indie-folk act The Stairwells, comprised of Stephen Horst ’13, Peter Christiansen ’15, Julie Kucks ’14, Josh Morken ’13 and former RD Kate O’Donnell, just released their first album “Renee.” JB&ME, a duo comprised of current students Morgan Broome ’19 and Jon Lees ’19, are also on the bill.
