A message from the Chair on the presidential search

Dear Grove City College community,

As we start a new year, I want to update you on our progress in the search for the College’s 10th president.

Following the announcement by President Paul J. McNulty ’80 that he will retire at the end of the 2024-25 academic year, the Board of Trustees hired CarterBaldwin, an executive search firm based in Georgia and Washington, D.C., and formed a Presidential Search Committee. I am pleased to report that more than 70 qualified applicants have expressed interest in the position. The quality and quantity of the applicants is a testament to Grove City College’s status in the world of Christian higher education. We have an excellent candidate pool.

In December, the Committee began the process of vetting the applications to develop a list of candidates to interview. Selecting finalists will, of course, take some time, but we expect to recommend a candidate to the Board of Trustees in March.

Many of the most attractive candidates are currently employed. To avoid doing anything that could create an employment issue for them, we have undertaken stringent confidentiality measures.

The search committee members are doing excellent work with our partners at CarterBaldwin. We appreciate your continued prayers for wisdom in our labors. I have every confidence that we will hear God’s calling and select the most capable leader for our beloved College.

Sincerely,

Ed Breen ‘78
Chair of the Grove City College Board of Trustees
Chair Presidential Search Committee
