Academic Interests:
Second language acquisition/ESL techniques as applied in the regular classroom with a particular interest in how these techniques affect the academic performance and social relationships of non-ESL learners, teacher preparation and effectiveness, particularly in regard to classroom management through interpersonal relationships and student-internalization of wanted behavior, and a general interest in educational technology used to diagnose, evaluate, and enhance both teaching and learning.

Personal Interests/Hobbies:
- Spending time with my husband (Mike Dreves, GCC Head Men’s Soccer Coach/Exercise Science and Phys. Ed. Dept.) and two boys
- Volunteering (particularly with local youth sports, the YMCA, and with my church)
- Sports (playing…but not watching!); volleyball is my favorite, but I run a lot as well
- Trying new recipes (much to my family’s dismay, I rarely make the same recipe twice)
- Vacuuming and Organizing (yes, I am aware that this is an odd hobby)
- Traveling (I’m not picky as to where…just take me somewhere I’ve never been)
- Researching on the Internet and in books for all my “wonderings”
