Grove City College’s Board of Trustees will welcome seven new members in July. The group comprised of executives and community leaders was nominated by the Governance Committee and approved by the full Board on May 17.
The Board of Trustees – led by Chair Edward D. Breen ’78, executive chairman of DuPont – is charged with advancing the mission of the College, establishing vision and values for policymaking, and overseeing all aspects of the College’s operation.
The new Trustees are:
William W. Smith ’69 is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Smith Micro Software, leading the company since its inception in 1982. He also shared his technical expertise through earlier work with Rockwell International, Xerox, and RCA. Grove City College presented Smith with a Jack Kennedy Memorial Alumni Achievement Award in 2008 and will rename its science and technology building, currently being renovated, in his honor. Smith and his wife, Dieva, live in Newport Beach, Calif.
Janice (Barbour ’05) Brenner is senior vice president for finance and investor relations for Equitrans Midstream Corp. in Pittsburgh, Pa. She previously served as Equitrans’ vice president for finance and treasurer. Earlier, Brenner worked as vice president of commercial operations for EQT Corp. A College Alumni Council member from 2016 to 2022, she earned her MBA at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. Brenner resides in Wexford with husband Eric ’05 and their three children.
Shawn P. Hanlon ’91 is a partner, Wealth Management Tax Services, with PwC US, after serving with the company for 27 years. He holds a master’s in taxation from Robert Morris University, is a CPA in Pennsylvania, and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He served on the College’s Alumni Council from 2014-17, and resides in Gibsonia, Pa., with wife Karen (Semler ’92) and their three children.
Andrew P. McIndoe ’10 is founder and chief executive officer of Invictus Strategies in Washington, D.C. He is a former executive at the Heritage Foundation, serving as both the vice president of development and director of donor relations. He earned an MBA at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. From 2012 to 2019, he was a member of Grove City College’s Alumni Council. He makes his home in Alexandria, Va., with wife Haley (Bargery ’12) and their three children.
Elizabeth Snyder ’98 has been a licensed attorney for 21 years. She previously worked with Snyder Associated Companies in Kittanning, Pa., a multi-generational holding company for subsidiaries that include mining and real estate. Snyder earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Pittsburgh. She and husband, Peter Kimmel, live in Kittanning, Pa., with their three sons, one of whom is a Grove City College rising junior.
Paul Passaro is a partner with Brown-Locy Advisors. He began his career on Wall Street at the bond firm of Roosevelt & Cross, Inc., and subsequently served as the chief financial officer or chief operating officer of several enterprises. Passaro is a graduate of Williams College with an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He and wife Kristi-Anne live in Chapel Hill, N.C. They have three children, including a 2022 graduate and a current rising sophomore.
Evan M. Addams ’10 is beginning his 3-year term as an Alumni trustee from the Alumni Association. He founded and is principal of The Gather Company in Pittsburgh, after working in information technology as senior vice president of Olive. He also is a co-founder of Sewickley’s Arise Classical Academy. Previously, he was an original team member and national sales and partnerships lead at restaurant reservation start-up NoWait, which sold to Yelp in a multi-million dollar deal in 2017. He and wife Bethany (Drake ’12) have four children and live in Pittsburgh.
Trustees serve three-year terms.
