McNulty ’80 will deliver a “State of the College” address announcing a new strategic vision that honors the College’s past, recognizes the enormous challenges of today and builds for a strong and faithful future. McNulty will deliver the address at a special luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016 at the Fairmont Hotel, Pittsburgh. He will be joined by KDKA-TV Morning News anchor Rick Dayton – grandson of Grove City College’s fourth president J. Stanley Harker '25 and a parent of a freshman at the College – for a program sure to be thought provoking and informative. One hundred years ago, Weir Ketler became the third president of Grove City College, following in the footsteps of his father Isaac Ketler, the College’s founder and first president. Articulating the vision of Grove City College forty years after its founding, Weir Ketler observed that the aim of the College should be to send out young men and women who not only have well-trained and efficient minds, but who possess well-rounded personalities, who respond to high motives and who follow high ideals. “We believe in constructiveness, in men and women who have courage, and who are unafraid to make a stand for the right,” he wrote. Grove City College has remained faithful to this extraordinary vision. The combination of academic rigor, Christian convictions and financial stewardship has earned the College a place among the elite institutions of higher education and wide-spread respect. Grove City College is one of the nation’s top-ranked liberal arts, sciences and engineering colleges and a champion of the American ideal of freedom.
