Grove City College to host special film event

Grove City College is presenting a special screening of “The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till” at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, in Sticht Lecture Hall in the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus.

Till’s horrific 1955 murder in Mississippi was a flashpoint for the Civil Rights Movement and this fascinating documentary gives voice to those who remember the tragedy and the events that preceded and followed it. The screening is part of the College’s observance of Black History Month.

Dr. Todd Allen and Dr. Kimberly Miller, professors of Communications Studies at the College, will lead a discussion accompanying the film. Allen is a scholar of civil rights rhetoric and Miller specializes in film criticism. This event is hosted and facilitated by the Department of Communication Studies and Visual Arts in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Education & Initiatives and S.E.A.D. (Students Excited About Diversity).

The event is free and open to the public.
