The Area Artists Exhibit, an annual event that marks its 25th year at the gallery, runs through Oct. 14. An artists’ opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, in the gallery. The exhibit and artists’ opening reception are free and open to the public. The exhibition will feature a variety of art created by 25 artists based in western Pennsylvania. “The goal of this exhibit to both give local artists a venue to display their works and to showcase just how many talented artists are hidden away in Western Pennsylvania,” Katy Westra ’13, gallery director and instructor of gallery studies, said. Gallery hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
