Nick Hildebrand / Thursday, January 25, 2018 / Categories: All News, STEM, Computer Science College offers Girls Who Code workshop Grove City College is sponsoring Girls Who Code, a fun, informative and inspiring workshop for high school girls from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 in STEM Hall on campus. Girls in grades eight through 12 are invited to learn to work with and program Edison robots to compete in a variety of challenges. Students will be provided with robots and laptops with software to program the robots. No programming experience is needed. They’ll also spend time with women who are pursuing careers in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and mathematics – and computer science faculty from Grove City College. Girls Who Code is planned and led by the College’s chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM.) The Chapter encourages teachers and guidance counselors in area schools to talk with interested students about the event. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required and participants should bring a packed lunch. Registration forms can be found here, or via email request to grovecityacm@gmail.com.
