Grove City College’s Touring Choir will perform a home concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16 in Harbison Chapel on campus.
The choir, directed by Dr. Katherine Mueller, assistant professor of Music and director of Choral Activities, will be performing works by Mozart, Poulenc, Rutter, Bernstein and Moses Hogan.
“The choir recently returned from a nine-day spring tour where they performed in churches in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. We are excited to present our tour program to our campus community here at home,” Mueller said.
The Grove City College Touring Choir is comprised of 45 singers chosen by audition at the beginning of the academic year. The choir seeks to praise and glorify God and to minister to others through the medium of music, striving together to achieve choral excellence.
In addition to the annual spring tour, the choir performs for churches and schools in Western Pennsylvania and at various campus events. The choir has visited virtually every state east of the Mississippi River during previous tours and has performed in New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore and Detroit.
