UPDATE (3/13/20): This performance has been postponed and will be rescheduled.
The Grove City College Touring Choir will give a home concert at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 in Harbison Chapel.
The concert follows their annual spring break tour. This year, they traveled through the Southeast, stopping at various churches and events to sing.
The music of the concert represents a wide variety of compositional eras including baroque, classical, romantic and modern, according to Dr. Katherine E. Mueller, assistant professor of Music and director of Choral Activities. “Musical styles range from motets to African-American spirituals and the Choir will honor Beethoven’s 250th birthday by performing his exciting Hallelujah from ‘Christ on the Mount of Olives’,” Mueller said.
The Grove City College Touring Choir is comprised of 45 singers chosen at the beginning of the academic year. The choir seeks to praise and glorify God and to minister to others through the medium of music, striving together to achieve choral excellence.
The concert can be viewed via the Department of Music’s livestream here.
