Grove City College’s Center for Entrepreneurship + Innovation will host alumni entrepreneurs this month for a pair of Richard G. Staley ’62 Visionary Entrepreneur Speaker Series events.
Evan Addams ’10 and Sean Ammirati ’02 will present “The Nowait Story: Creating the World How It Ought to Be” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in Sticht Lecture Hall in the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus.
Addams, Nowait National Sales & Partnerships Lead at Yelp, and Ammirati, a partner, Birchmere Labs and Birchmere Ventures, will relate their experience with Nowait, a startup that grew rapidly until it was acquired by Yelp in 2017 for $40 million, from the startup and investor perspectives.
On Nov. 30, Kimberly Garrett ’12, co-founder and president of Better Made Brands will offer the perspective of a young entrepreneur who sold her first business, Rooted Beauty, to Seventh Generation – now Unilever – and is now on to her next venture. Garrett will speak at 7 p.m. in Sticht Lecture Hall.
The Richard G. Staley ’62 Visionary Entrepreneur Speaker Series brings experienced entrepreneurs to campus to share their insight and wisdom. Each semester, the Center, which strives to promote an entrepreneurial culture throughout the institution, hosts successful business people whose compelling stories of success and failure inspire and enlighten audiences, provoke thought and stimulated conversation.
The lectures are co-sponsored by the Business Program at Grove City College.
