The folk-roots band Stella Ruze will play a coffeehouse-style concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 in Breen Student Union on the campus of Grove City College.
The Showcase Series concert is free and open to the public.
Founded in Philadelphia, Stella Ruze is inspired by song themes of love lost and found, paying homage to New Orleans jazz stylings, tight vocal harmonies and melodic piano hooks. The band consists of seven members and multiple instruments, including trumpet, bass and saxophone. The group is releasing its first full-length album “The Greater Dog” on Jan. 18.
The band has established an enthusiastic following, playing with national tours including Pete Francis of Dispatch, Kuinka, Midnight North and Blue Water Highway. They have released several well-received albums and continue to call Pennsylvania home and headline at some of the biggest folk festivals statewide as well as across the country.
Hot drinks and light refreshments will be available.
The Grove City College Showcase Series features guest artists both on campus and at professional venues to enrich the College’s students by giving them opportunity for exposure to varied disciplines in the cultural and artistic world.
