Sara Weingartner

With over 20 years of experience as a physical therapist, Sara has a comprehensive understanding of what it means to be healthy both physically and mentally. Though she enjoyed helping her patients overcome their physical challenges, over time, she found herself being called more and more to assist with their emotional struggles. Feeling limited in her ability to do so, and thus help the whole person, she decided to expand her skill set and pursue mental health counseling.

A Christian worldview forms the foundation of Sara’s approach to counseling, namely the belief that each person is created in the image of God and therefore has inherent value and worth. Embracing a trauma-informed perspective, she incorporates CBT and mindfulness-based interventions to help students overcome obstacles like worry, relationship issues, chronic health challenges, anxiety, self-esteem struggles, and more.

Sara’s favorite self-care activities are spending time with family, walking her dog, running, listening to worship music, and baking cookies. In her eyes, a little bit of self-grace goes a long way, and that is something she hopes to help her students understand too.
