– Grove City College is showcasing the artistic talents of students from five area school districts this month in the Gallery of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.
The second annual Area High School Exhibit runs through Nov. 18. The gallery show features artwork created by students from Grove City Area High School, Grove City Christian Academy, Mercer Area High School, Commodore Perry High School, and Hickory High School, Hermitage, Pa.
“This is a great way to highlight the talents of young area artists and a fantastic opportunity for the College and community to come together to support the arts,” said Hilary (Lewis ’09) Walczak, director of College Archives and Galleries.
In its second year, the show has grown to include more students and schools, Walczak noted. “We are very excited about the range of artwork on display, from paintings to charcoal drawings to ceramics and more,” she said.
The student artists will be feted at a reception in the Gallery this week. The Gallery show is free and open to the public from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
