Nominations open for 'town-gown' Campus-Community Awards

Nominations are being accepted through Dec. 3 for the annual Florence E. MacKenzie Campus-Community Awards.

The service awards highlight and celebrate a “town-gown” relationship that dates to Grove City College’s founding in 1876.

Two awards – one for a Grove City College campus awardee and one for the greater Grove City area – are presented each year and are open to any individual, business, campus or community group that meets the criteria of working to bring the College and Borough together in meaningful, beneficial ways.

Individuals and organizations that exemplify and build the spirit of collaboration and partnership that exists between the College and the Grove City community are eligible. Nominees for both awards must achieve this through volunteer, non-profit effort, not through requirements of employment or for-profit interaction.

There are many people who work to build stronger ties of cooperation and friendship between the campus and the community. Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize and celebrate them. To nominate an individual or group for one of the two awards, complete the form located at alumni.gcc.edu/CCnomination22 no later than Dec. 3, 2021.

The awards, now in their 39th year, will be presented Feb. 10, 2022. They were created in 1983 to honor the memory of former College first lady Florence E. MacKenzie and pay tribute to her tireless community-building efforts.
