Night Game is once-a-season spectacle

Grove City College’s annual Night Game, played under the lights of Thorn Field, kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday with the Wolverine football squad taking on Case Western Reserve.

The Wolverines (1-1) are looking for a win against 19th ranked Case Western Reserve in a NCAA Div. III contest. The crowd-pleasing community event is not to be missed and admission is free.

White Out Rally Towel give away begins at 6:15 p.m. The first 1,500 in the gates will receive a White Out towel to help cheer on the Wolverines.

The special event will feature a halftime show by the Wolverine Marching Band and conclude with a fireworks display that lights up campus and Olde Town Grove City. A note to pedestrians: Rainbow Bridge will be closed at the end of the third quarter; the Main Street bridge will remain open for pedestrian traffic.

Earlier in the day, Grove City will play host to the Grove City Foodie Fest, a Chamber of Commerce event offering delectable local fare from area restaurants and purveyors with music by Treebeard Brown. The fest runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Park in the Highland and Joseph D. Monteleone picnic shelters.
