Grove City College’s Office of Marketing and Communications won two CUPPIE awards for work produced to advance the College’s mission, vision and values.
The March 2020 edition of the GeDUNK alumni magazine won the gold award and a social media post invoking Narnia took the bronze award in their respective categories.
The CUPPIEs are awarded annually by College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP) to recognize outstanding work by its members. Awards covered work completed in 2020. More than 350 entries from colleges, universities, agencies and providers of private, specialized, and secondary education and accreditation were evaluated in the awards’ 14th year.
The award-winning GeDUNK issue explored the theme of “Academic Excellence” and detailed the College’s commitment to providing students with a broad and deep educational experience in a Christ-centered living and learning environment. The amazing stained glass of Harbison Chapel provided a cover image and a graphic anchor for the story’s layout. The magazine also featured an innovative back page fold out highlighting a signature alumni event as well as robust coverage of College and alumni news, feature stories and class notes.
The Narnia social media post from Sept. 23, 2020, offered a “little literary magic” from College icon C.S. Lewis over a photo of Ketler Hall and a straightforward message: “Our prayer is that students may come to know Christ better during their time at Grove City College so that they may go into the world knowing and showing him to a greater extent.”
