How big of a role did the affordability of Grove City College play in your college decision making process?
Affordability was one of the main factors that played into my decision. Its cost conscious model paired with strong academics offered a competitive combination that ultimately drove me to choose Grove City College.

How is faith incorporated in the classroom?
I saw faith demonstrated most strikingly in the way that many professors made a genuine effort to invest not only in their students as students, but as people who had lives and struggles and aspirations outside of the classroom. It’s one thing to lecture with a Christian bent, but it is another to demonstrate that Christian perspective in day to day living and interactions, and I felt that many of my professors sought to demonstrate faith based living both inside and outside the classroom.

How do the academics challenge students to think on a deeper level about the world and life in general?
On one hand, they force students to seriously consider how to best allocate their time and energy, what is truly important in life, and how to honor God in the stress and chaos. But they also are taught by professors who don’t want to spoon feed ideology, but who want to challenge and enhance the way that students think about themselves and the world in which they live. I became a harder worker in college, but I also became a better, more mature thinker.

What is the relationship like between the students and the professors?
One aspect that I truly appreciated about Grove City College was the smaller class sizes, which allowed for real relationship building with other students and professors. My professors cared about me as a person, and were always willing to offer their advice—whether in regards to academics or to life in general. The wisdom and guidance I received from some of my professors helped me end up where I am today.

What do you find to be the most unique aspect of Grove City College?
The combination of high quality, challenging academics and affordability. This is not a common offering, and I certainly didn’t find that I sacrificed community or a solid education as a result of attending a more affordable school.

How would you describe the relationship that the students have with each other on campus?
Students have so many ways to get involved and to meet others, and once those relationships are formed, they have the ability to foster those relationships on campus. Living so close to your best friends is such a rich and fleeting blessing, and one that should be taken advantage of.
