Grove City College earns top spots in U.S. News rankings

The rankings are out, and Grove City College earned top status for value, overall quality, and undergraduate teaching, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2025 Best Colleges   edition.

The College holds the number two spot for Best Value in the Northeast and is ranked 4th overall in the region, according to the influential rankings that were released Tuesday. The College also ranked second in the Northeast for undergraduate teaching and was recognized nationally for its undergraduate engineering and computer science programs in the 2025 guide.

“The latest U.S. News rankings highlight the value of a Grove City College education and validate our commitment to offering students excellent academic programs that ensure a strong grounding in the liberal arts as well as a comprehensive understanding of their major areas of study. This approach, grounded in Christian truth, enables graduates to flourish in their lives and careers,” College President Paul J. McNulty ’80 said.

A Best Value school offers more than just a low cost and high return, according to U.S. News. The College’s affordable sticker price – just $21,700 per year in tuition – and efforts to provide the maximum possible need-based aid were considered only in relation to the quality of education that is offered, according to US. News’ methodology.

The College’s overall best ranking is based on academic data, including graduation rates and financial resources devoted to instruction, high post-graduate earnings, low student debt, and peer assessments from administrators and faculty at other private, non-profit colleges.

U.S. News recognized Grove City College for excellence in undergraduate teaching, ranking the College second in the region based on multiple data points and the nomination of at least seven peer institutions. The designation highlights the faculty’s primary focus on providing a high-quality instructional experience.

Peer reviews from senior faculty members were also key to the College’s Engineering and Computer Science departments earning recognition as top undergraduate programs in the U.S. News rankings.
