In their first concert of the semester, Grove City College’s Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will present “Sweet Suite Music” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14 in Ketler Auditorium in the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.
The concert is free and open to the public. It will be livestreamed at gcc.edu/livemusic.
The concert, directed by Professor of Music Dr. Andrew Erb, will feature historically significant works from the wind band repertoire. The concert band will perform Gustov Holst's "First Suite in Eb," and the Wind Ensemble will perform Claude T. Smith's "Incidental Suite." The show also features works by David Holsinger, Rossano Galante, John Phillip Sousa, and others.
"I am excited to share this music with our community. The program contains a wonderful mix of music from different time periods, styles, and genres. Whether it be a beautiful ballad, a rousing march, or uplifting new compositions, there is something here for everyone," Erb said.
