Campus-Community Award nominees sought

Nominations open on Nov. 1 for the 37th annual Campus-Community Awards, to be held on Feb. 11, 2020 at the Carnegie Alumni Center at Grove City College.

Two awards will be presented: one to a Grove City College campus awardee and one to a greater Grove City Borough awardee, each of whom meet the criteria of working to bring the College and borough together in meaningful, beneficial ways. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 15.

Individuals, businesses, campus student groups, and community groups that exemplify this spirit of collaboration and partnership between the College and the community are eligible. Nominees for both awards must have met the criteria through volunteer, non-profit effort, and not through aspects of employment that require interaction.

To nominate a qualified individual or organizational group for a Campus-Community Award, please email cmshaw@gcc.edu or complete the online nomination form at www.alumni.gcc.edu/campuscomm2020 by Dec. 15.

The award is named for Florence E. MacKenzie, wife of former Grove City College President Dr. Charles S. MacKenzie. Her efforts and involvement included serving as president of Grove City Woman’s Club, the Women’s Bowling League, secretary of the local United Way, and president of the Grove City Hospital Board of Trustees, today known as the Grove City Medical Center. The awards have been presented since 1983.
