Grove City College will showcase the artistic talents of students from three local schools in the Gallery of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.
The inaugural Area High School Exhibit opened Tuesday and runs through Dec. 13. The gallery show features artwork created by students from Grove City Area High School, Grove City Christian Academy, and Mercer Area High School. The student artists saw their work on display Wednesday during an opening reception at the Gallery.
Annalise Arnold, a ninth grade Grove City student, said having her and her classmates work in the Gallery was “an amazing experience.”
"I've never displayed my art to anyone but my family, so I felt extremely honored to have it there for other people to see. I think it is such a good opportunity for kids at a young age to show their art to others and inspire people to try it themselves,” she said.
“This is a great way for the College to connect with our community and highlight the great talents of our area high schoolers as they start to think about colleges. We hope to make this show an annual event at the Pew Gallery,” said Hilary (Lewis ’09) Walczak, director of College Archives and Galleries.
The Gallery is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
