Grove City College’s Department of Education invites high-school students to learn about becoming a transformational educator at one of the nation's top teacher preparation institutions at Education Major Day on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Students and their families will learn how Grove City College equips students with the skills to become certified teachers and lifelong educators in public and private schools through a variety of general and specialized majors and minors in elementary, secondary, post-secondary, special and early childhood education.
The College has a reputation as a great school for Education majors that provides a solid foundation in theory and practice for rewarding and fulfilling careers. It was recently ranked number two in the nation for Early Childhood Education by Study.com and identified as a Hidden Gem for teacher training by College Raptor. It is College of Distinction for Education.
Grove City College’s field-based Education programs afford students the opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in an on-site early education school and in surrounding school districts. Graduates are eligible for certification as teachers in Pennsylvania, other states and internationally.
The open house admissions event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 in the Hall of Arts and Letters on campus. Students and families will hear presentations from faculty about the College’s programs, learn about the courses, field experiences and career opportunities available to majors, get a first-hand view from a current student roundtable, have lunch and take a walking tour of campus, which is ranked one of the nation’s most beautiful.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Hall of Arts and Letters and continues until 4 p.m. An optional financial aid session begins at 10 a.m. Students interested in applying to Grove City College can also schedule an interview with the Office of Admissions at admissions@gcc.edu.
