Students take on 24-Hour Theater Project

Grove City College’s theater honorary Tau Alpha Pi presents the second annual 24-Hour Theater Project at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 in the Little Theatre of Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.

The project is an ambitious and innovative experiment in collegiate theater that aims to write, direct, stage and perform several one-act plays in a single 24-hour period. Students will start working on the show at 6 p.m. Friday and no one knows going into the process what will come out of it.

“This is such a curious event because you never know what the final product will be. It relies heavily on the excitement and creativity of those who are involved. So far we are planning on having six short plays – each starting from scratch. There is also talk of attempting a short musical, so stay tuned for that,” said Brian Ferris ’19, who is coordinating the event with Johanna Young ’19.

Grove City College has many talented students, and this is an incredible opportunity to see what they can come up with under the strictest of deadlines. 

The show is free and open to the public, but Tau Alpha Pi will be collecting donations to support World Hope International – a Christian relief and development organization that works with vulnerable and exploited communities to alleviate poverty, suffering and injustice – and its hurricane relief efforts.
