Take time to research industries, fields, and organizations that match your interests and your geographic preference to understand traditional career paths and discover new ones. Hone your job search skills such as resume and cover letter writing, networking, and interviewing. You will especially want to learn how to tailor your resume to the internships that you may be applying for and regularly practice your interviewing skills.
Connect with people at organizations and in fields of interest to you by attending networking events, joining professional organizations, and using online resources. Keep your online profiles (LinkedIn and Handshake) up to date. Use Handshake to search for internships, events, employers, and on-campus interviews, and take advantage of LinkedIn to build your connections, learn about companies, and search for open positions.
