Jesus’ final command to his disciples before his ascension was to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV). This command to go is at the heart of the Red Box Global Outreach (GO) program, which equips five to eight students each year for summer-long cross-cultural missions trips.
Students in this program select where they will spend their summer and can participate in traditional missions projects or vocational ministry, working alongside doctors or Christian businesspeople in their work to spread the Gospel overseas. Red Box GO students receive financial and logistical support from the College as they plan for their summer ministry.
Upon returning to campus, Red Box GO participants speak during our Thursday morning chapel services. Recently, Red Box GO volunteers have served in Honduras, the Dominican Republic, the Middle East, Burundi, South Africa, and East Asia.
During Inner City Outreach (ICO) trips, Grove City College students travel to cities throughout the United States and beyond to minister to others and share the Gospel. These trips take place during fall break, Thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break.
ICO trips are student initiated and student led. Grove City College provides training and resources to the leaders of each approved trip. Each year, Grove City College sends out, on average, 12 ICO trips, mostly domestically but also internationally.
