SGA is responsible for hosting campus events and serving as sponsor to those of other organizations. In addition, SGA represents students and confers with the administration of the College on matters pertaining to campus life. SGA serves students by providing an outlet for comment or suggestions to reinforce or improve an outstanding College climate and community.
SGA is composed of the executive president and 29 voting members, including officers from each class, adjunct officers, and the executive committee. Voting for SGA members takes place prior to the close of the spring semester for the following academic year. Freshman officers are elected each the fall.
SGA meets regularly throughout the year, and meetings are announced in advance. All students are welcome. Class officers serve as representatives of their fellow classmates and are responsible for the planning and execution of any class-sponsored events. The president is in charge of general coordination of all class events and serves as a liaison between students and the administration. The secretary aids the president in overall coordination of class activities and attends to class correspondence. And the senators for academic, social, and student affairs serve as members of their respective SGA committees.
