Altering Your Room

Grove City College understands and encourages the personalization of student rooms in ways that reflect individual identity and promote a living environment that is enjoyable and edifying yet consistent with the College’s Community Standards. Please take note of the following:

1. 3M Command strips are the only item that can be used to hang things in residence hall rooms. Nails, screws, duct tape, and other adhesives are not permitted. Note that Colonial Hall Apartments (occupied by primarily seniors) have different wall-hangings regulations.
2. Fire codes must be followed when using personal furnishings in one’s room.
3. College-provided furniture should not be removed from student rooms or common spaces.
4. Items not in keeping with the vision and values of the College are not to be displayed in student rooms or on College property. Please see The Crimson: Student Handbook for a list of such items.
5. Occupants are expected to regularly clean their rooms.
6. Residents accept the responsibility for damages in their room that take place over the course of the academic year and the replacement of missing items.
7. Students are not to tamper with College property, window screens, fire equipment, furniture, electrical wiring, switches, outlets, or fixtures or to cover their room numbers.
8. The College maintains responsibility for all painting in residence hall rooms, lobbies, and hallways. Students may not paint rooms or common spaces.
9. The creation of self-made lofts is prohibited. Loft kits can be obtained in some residence halls after move-in by putting your name on a waiting list at the beginning of the Fall semester. Loft kits are distributed based on need (e.g., triples get first preference) and are given out by Resident Assistants once everyone arrives on campus. If you are interested in a loft kit, let your Resident Assistant know.

Technology & Connectivity

Network Access

Each room of our residence halls has a wired network connection, and wireless internet service is available campus wide.

Television Service

Televisions with Cable-TV service are available for viewing in common areas of the residence halls.  Cable-TV subscriptions for individual rooms are available through the local provider, Armstrong (844-423-5049).
