Between jazz groups, concert bands, and athletic bands, Grove City College offers you numerous opportunities to make music as a wind player, percussionist, or dancer. Our bands work to balance high performance levels while allowing non-music majors to participate – and have even recorded several studio albums in recent years. Grove City College’s choirs provide a variety of opportunities for excellence in choral performance. Our choirs perform literature of a wide variety – from hymns and spirituals to large symphonic works – and have collaborated with groups such as The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Choirs
Our orchestras are some of the largest in the region and play high-level music from pops to classical standards and everything in between. They have premiered many new works in recent years and have performed in major conferences like the National Association for Music Education’s all-Eastern division conference. The symphony orchestra recently won third place in The American Prize for Orchestral Performance, a nationwide competition of college and university orchestras. Grove City College’s chamber ensembles are diverse groups made up of music majors and non-music majors. All are student directed with faculty oversight and are a great way to grow your musical skills while developing leadership skills.
