• Award-winning theatre program open to students of all majors, featuring two mainstage productions and numerous other student productions every academic year.
• Active on-campus groups including our award-winning chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (international education honorary), as well as the Secondary Education Society, Council for Exceptional Children, Lambda Iota Tau (literary honorary which sponsors poetry readings and other literary events), and Tau Alpha Pi (theatre honorary which coordinates our student-directed one-act play festival each semester).

Program Specifics

• B.A. in English and Secondary Education Certification
  • 36 credit hours of English coursework spanning British, American, and classical literature with inclusion of Shakespeare and grammar courses.
  • 49 credit hours of professional education coursework including foundations of teaching, technologies of instruction, educational psychology, culturally relevant pedagogy, methods of teaching adolescents and high school students, and more.

• B.A. in English and Communication Secondary Education Certification
  • 36 credit hours of English coursework spanning British, American, and classical literature with inclusion of Shakespeare and grammar courses.
  • Six credit hours of communication coursework in speech, media, or theatre.
  • 49 credit hours of professional education coursework including foundations of teaching, technologies of instruction, educational psychology, culturally relevant pedagogy, methods of teaching adolescents and high school students, and more.
