The Department of Exercise Science offers a number of graduate assistantship (GA) positions each year:
Position Summary: Responsible for assisting the EXER professor in teaching weekly anatomy and physiology (EXER 253 in the fall, EXER 258 in the spring) labs. The anatomy and physiology graduate assistant will take care of laboratory instruction and teaching undergraduate students using the Anatomage table and specimens. This will require setting up and cleaning the classroom for weekly labs, preparing and administering practical exams for undergraduate students, helping the students learn course material, and other tasks needed during the teaching of the labs.
Position Summary: Responsible for assisting the strength and conditioning program for the entire athletic department. This will require collaborating with the head strength and conditioning and assistant strength and conditioning coaches to develop and coach the proper workout protocol for all of the athletic programs on Grove City College for both in-season and out-of-season time periods. The successful candidate must possess a current strength and conditioning certification, preferably either CSCS, or CSCCa. This coach will support Grove City College and its unique mission of being a Christian college and support the athletic department’s mission to foster a Christian environment in all aspects of sport.
Position Summary: Responsible for assisting the EXER department in teaching and supervising EXER 256 (Physiology of Exercise) labs. This course includes two lab sections in both the fall and spring semesters. The Physiology of exercise graduate assistant will be responsible for laboratory instruction of undergraduate students which requires grading and assisting with setting up and conducting labs for Exercise Physiology students.
The positions will be paid a stipend of $4,000 for each fall or spring semester, or $8,000 per academic year.
