Grove City College is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Music beginning in the fall of 2025-26 academic year. Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. or D.M.A. in a music or fine art field with preference given to candidates with a doctorate or master’s degree in Musicology. ABD will be considered.
Teaching responsibilities include HUMA 301 (Civilization and the Arts) as well as courses for the Music and/or Art program. At least half of the teaching load will be comprised of HUMA 301 which is part of the college’s core curriculum and includes western art history and music history from a Christian perspective. The candidate will also assist with various college and department committees and service to the department including recruiting, auditions, recitals, curriculum, academic and graduate school advising. Candidates must be committed to teaching highly motivated students of all majors at a Christian liberal arts institution. A proven record of scholarship/performance and sustained excellence in teaching are highly valued. Experience teaching interdisciplinary arts and music is preferred.
The Grove City College Department of Music is a robust and collegial community of scholars, performers, and pedagogues. It includes eight full-time faculty, 29 part-time faculty, and two staff, as well as five undergraduate degrees, two minors, and approximately 270 students (majors, minors, and ensembles).
