The Center for Entrepreneurship + Innovation (E+I) spearheads programs, competitions, and events dedicated to fostering a community of changemakers, whether they are students, alumni, or community members, from all disciplines who are committed to blended impact for the common good. We're seeking an Assistant Director who is particularly passionate about E+I’s mission to provide programs, competitions, and events that foster and support innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs from all disciplines, whether they are students, alumni, or community members, who are committed to blended impact as well as the creation of ventures that serve the common good.
Key Responsibilities: • Strategic On-Campus Programming Leadership: Direct and continuously refine on-campus programming that integrates service learning, venture-building, and experiential learning tailored to enhance the academic journey. • Evaluation and Innovation: Continuously assess and evolve our offerings to meet dynamic market needs, creating additional opportunities for student engagement in entrepreneurship. • Collaborative Initiatives: Partner with faculty across all schools to expand and market E+I initiatives, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to innovation.
Student Engagement and Mentorship: • Student Ventures: Assist with targeted coaching and support for E+I’s student venture programs, guiding the next generation of entrepreneurs. • Mentorship: Act as a primary mentor for students exploring entrepreneurship + innovation, and coordinate with external mentors to enrich our entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Teaching and Thought Leadership: • Educational Impact: Teach one academic course per semester related to entrepreneurship, depending on the successful candidate’s area of expertise • Workshop Development: Develop and conduct workshops on emerging topics in entrepreneurship and innovation. • Content Creation: Craft articles and blog posts to enhance E+I’s national presence and promote concepts that contribute to human flourishing.
Special Projects: Undertake projects as directed by the Executive Director that contribute to E+I’s mission and vision.
Supervisory Responsibility: Direct supervision of E+I Program Manager, student employees, and independent contractors as necessary.
Minimum Job Requirements:
1. Education. Master’s degree, Business, Entrepreneurship or Innovation preferred
2. Experience. a. Real-world experience with entrepreneurship + startups in some capacity b. Teaching at the undergraduate level, preferably in entrepreneurship and/or innovation c. Strong knowledge of and interest in entrepreneurship and innovation.
3. Preferred Experience. a. Experience in a startup venture/work environment – extra points for founding a company! b. Existing network of contacts to enhance the E+I mentor and coaching network c. Passion for social innovation + social entrepreneurship is a plus d. Excitement around the intersection of new technology + entrepreneurship
