As a residential college, the majority of our students live on campus; therefore, our intention is to remain open during inclement weather. Commuting students should exercise caution and good judgment in dealing with hazardous traveling conditions and should decide for themselves whether it is best to be absent from class, to come to campus late, or to leave early.
Occasionally, the College may close or delay classes due to severe or hazardous weather conditions. If there is extreme weather occurring late at night or early in the morning, the decision to close the College or delay operations will be announced at approximately 5:30 a.m. This announcement will be released to local television stations and will be sent to all students and employees through the campus emergency notification system.
If a delayed schedule is announced, the College will open at 10 a.m. for regular business (unless otherwise determined), and one of the following schedules will be followed. Note, classes may be held virtually at the normal class time.:
Schedule A (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Schedule B (Tuesday, Thursday)
If a campus closing is announced, all classes will be canceled for the day (a determination on holding night classes will be made prior to 2 p.m.). The campus closing announcement will be communicated via local television stations and the campus emergency notification system. In the event of a campus closing, all offices will be closed and all events will be canceled.
